As a Service Transition and Onboarding Consultant in our Business Consulting and Service Advisory Practice team, you will combine subject matter and technical expertise with business understanding to provide insights that help build next-generation IT services and operating models. You will tackle challenges across the public and private sectors and work alongside clients to shape the future of technology and user experience in the UK.

Your Future Duties and Responsibilities
This role involves working in complex, multi-vendor environments where you will draw on your experience in service transition and onboarding to ensure new services or suppliers are seamlessly integrated into established service delivery ecosystems. You will support clients through the full lifecycle, from planning to design, deployment, and operational readiness, ensuring effective application of ITIL best practices and SIAM principles.
Key Activities:
1. Manage and oversee the transition and onboarding of new services or suppliers into existing client ecosystems, ensuring alignment with SIAM and ITIL frameworks.
2. Lead the development of transition plans, ensuring new services or suppliers meet predefined service requirements.
3. Support the design and implementation of target operating models, focusing on service readiness and operational support.
4. Act as a liaison between clients and suppliers to align onboarding activities with service management strategies.
5. Provide subject matter expertise in service transition and onboarding, ensuring smooth handovers from project teams to operational teams.
6. Conduct service readiness assessments to ensure all criteria are met before transitioning services into live operations.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders for smooth communication and coordination throughout the transition lifecycle.
8. Use SIAM best practices to manage multi-vendor ecosystems effectively.
9. Support continuous improvement initiatives post-onboarding.
10. Produce high-quality reports and documentation for clear communication throughout the onboarding process.
Required Qualifications to be Successful in This Role
- Strong experience in service transition and onboarding, managing complex projects with multiple suppliers.
- Proven understanding of ITILV3 or ITIL4 frameworks.
- Knowledge of SIAM frameworks and experience managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in planning and executing service transitions.
- Ability to produce high-quality written materials.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- A self-starter who can operate independently while collaborating effectively.
- Strong commercial understanding in relation to IT services.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a Service Integration and Management (SIAM) environment.
- Knowledge of service management tooling.
- Familiarity with public sector projects and government standards.
- Experience in managing transitions related to cloud-hosted services.
- ITIL Expert certification or progress towards this qualification.
