Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
We are delighted to be able to recruit to our Anti-Coagulation team to support our patients at MFT.
The hours of work will be Monday - Friday, usually between 08:00-17:00. The unit is closed on all bank holidays.
Applications are encouraged from motivated and enthusiastic candidates, preferably with anticoagulation experience.
Main Duties of the Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Anticoagulation Specialist Nurse. The anticoagulation team is highly specialised in the care of patients who are currently receiving oral or parenteral anticoagulation treatment.
Interested candidates should have highly effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a diverse team of professionals. Candidates should also be able to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels, have excellent organisational skills, and the ability to use their own initiative.
You must be a team player with exemplary communication and interpersonal skills. You will be committed to the support and development of yourself and others and be driven and motivated to work collaboratively to achieve the highest standards of care for our patients.
Ideally, you will possess the non-medical prescribing qualification; however, the right candidate will be supported to obtain this once fully trained.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a friendly and forward-thinking team, with opportunities for specialist training and further study, including attendance at national conferences.
About Us
MFT is one of the largest NHS Trusts in England with a turnover of £2.6bn and is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts. We are creating an exceptional integrated health and social care system for the 1 million patients who rely on our services every year.
Bringing together 10 hospitals and community services from across Manchester, Trafford, and beyond, we champion collaborative working and transformation, encouraging our 28,000 workforce to pursue their most ambitious goals. We set standards that other Trusts seek to emulate, benefiting from a scale of opportunity that is nothing short of extraordinary.
We've also created a digitally enabled organisation to improve clinical quality, patient and staff experience, and operational effectiveness through the introduction of Hive, our Electronic Patient Record system which launched in September 2022.
We're proud to be a major academic Research Centre and Education provider, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programmes. We're excited to be embarking on our Green Plan, which outlines how MFT continues to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable.
At MFT, we create and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, providing equal opportunities for career development that are fair, open, and transparent, protecting your health and wellbeing, and shaping the future of our organisation together.
