What will I be doing?
A requirement for a Tooling Manufacturing Engineer has arisen to assist the existing Tooling function with its current capacity shortfall. This role will be required to support the following activities:
- Create industrialised tooling solutions in accordance with the Safran standards and specifications for the various needs of the Composites, Assembly and Sheet Metal manufacturing activities.
- Design and then refine tooling concepts to enable manufacture through the external supplier network.
- Liaise with and advise external tooling manufacturers on all technical requirements to facilitate effective production which meets cost, quality and function requirements.
- Provide technical support to the internal toolmakers when maintaining existing hardware.
- Work with various stakeholders (including Manufacturing Engineering and Production) to ensure that all requirements are understood and fulfilled.
- Support requests for internal investment via the creation of capital expenditure justification.

What will I be doing?

- Competitive salary
- 37 hour working week over 4.5 days with a 1pm finish on Friday

What you need from me?
- Educated to degree-level within an appropriate engineering subject or equivalent experience.
- Existing tooling design and manufacturing experience, preferably with a Composites, Assembly and/or Sheet Metal bias.
- Understanding of typical aerospace application requirements (preferable).
- Thorough working knowledge of GD&T and general engineering principles.
- Working knowledge of typical manufacturing process capabilities.
- Strong working experience in a CAD/CAM environment (preferably Catia v5).
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
- Experience of working with external suppliers.
