Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking. Due to the classified nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home in this role. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on site at AWE Aldermaston.
Package:
1. Engineer (graduates, HNC with experience): £29,650 - £37,000
2. Experienced Engineer (graduates with post-graduate experience): £37,860 - £47,000
3. Senior Engineer (Engineers experienced at leading programmes): £47,690 - £65,000
A relocation package may be available (terms and conditions apply).

AWE has exciting opportunities for motivated and experienced Electrical & Electronics Engineers, who are keen to apply and develop their skills and knowledge. We have roles for engineers at various stages of their careers and are able to offer excellent development and progression opportunities. You will be working within a team of experienced engineers supporting the delivery, assessment, and testing of warhead electrical/electronic systems and components.
Responsibilities include:
1. Assessment of new designs for suitability for service use.
2. Qualification of new components.
3. Test and assessment of components and systems as part of an ongoing surveillance programme.
4. Specification of trials and surveillance activities.
5. Engaging with US counterparts on surveillance and test activities.
There may be the opportunity for occasional overseas travel, depending on the specific role.
Who are we looking for?
We do need you to have the following:
1. A degree qualification (or equivalent, e.g. HNC plus vocational training) in electrical/electronic engineering, followed by relevant experience.
2. Experience in the designing, testing, and fault-finding of electrical/electronic circuits, with the ability to analyse and assess existing designs.
3. Knowledge of the application of electronics to defence systems would be an advantage, but not essential.
Training will be provided, and opportunities to study for further qualifications are available.

You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
