ACCESS (A Collaboration of Central, Eastern and Southern Shires) brings together 11 like-minded Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) Authorities. Founded in 2016, we have already enabled the collaborative investment of over £45bn of assets on behalf of Authorities representing more than 1.2 million members and 3,500 employers.
The role
The Pool Analyst will take responsibility for the development and delivery of the milestones that constitute the Business Plan. Working with a range of partners, this hands-on role will timetable and organise processes to ensure that the needs of our Authority stakeholders are met in line with expectations.
The post holder will have a qualification in a relevant analytic or project management discipline, alongside a track record in meeting challenging expectations. The post holder will be responsible for both coordinating collaboration across a range of stakeholders and delivering Business Plan milestones. The role requires expert knowledge of investment pooling within the Local Government Pension Scheme.
You will collaborate with and influence stakeholders across the ACCESS Pool, including Elected Members, s151 Officers, and LGPS subject matter experts. Additionally, you will provide matrix management and mentorship to an ACCESS Support Officer, as well as cover for the Manager in their absence.
About you
You’ll hold a degree (RQF level 6) in a relevant analytical or project management discipline or equivalent experience, with ongoing professional development and expert knowledge of investment pooling within the Local Government Pension Scheme. You will have a proven track record of achieving successful outcomes through collaboration with external organizations, possess strong business planning, project management, and analytical skills, and can independently conduct research. Excellent verbal and written communication, organisational, time management, and planning skills are essential, along with experience in building influential, collaborative relationships both within the Council and with external organisations to achieve strategic goals.
