Elevation Recruitment are delighted to be exclusively partnered with a manufacturer in South Sheffield in their search for a Junior Buyer/ Purchasing Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join a dynamic buying team within a well-established organisation.
This role is crucial in supporting the team with the accurate, timely, and cost-effective supply of goods and services while maintaining optimal stock levels. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of procurement processes and will assist in managing supplier relationships, inventory, and overall buying operations.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in processing purchase requisitions in alignment with product specifications and agreed terms and conditions.
* Expedite purchase requisitions and maintain up-to-date delivery information.
* Provide support in obtaining quotations, analysing pricing and delivery details, and maintaining accurate purchasing controls within the ERP system.
* Assist in managing inventory levels, ensuring stock availability while avoiding shortages or excess.
* Help foster strong relationships with suppliers and monitor their performance based on established KPIs, supporting the completion of supplier evaluations and scorecards.
* Resolve discrepancies related to invoices, deliveries, and quality issues.
* Provide data and information for regular departmental reporting.
* Ensure adherence to ethical, environmental, and safe purchasing practices.
* Maintain accurate records for audit purposes.
* Assist with demand planning and monitoring of goods/services.
* Support the buying team in ensuring timely delivery and quality of goods/services.
* Prioritise tasks effectively and manage time to meet deadlines.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Experience in a purchasing or supply chain role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
* Basic understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
* Strong administration, numerical, and organisational skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
