About the role
Connex Education is partnering with a SEND school in Caerphilly to recruit an experienced Learning Support Assistant. While previous experience in special needs is not required, a solid understanding of the needs of learners with ALN (Additional Learning Needs) and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges would be beneficial. Candidates with experience in mainstream education or those who have worked as care or support workers would be a good fit for this role.

Assignment Details
As a Learning Support Assistant in a SEN school, we are looking for individuals who are adaptable and eager to contribute to a range of curriculum activities and ideas. The ideal candidate will be able to support pupils in engaging with and enjoying life-affirming experiences. You should also recognise the importance of providing both high support and appropriate challenges. We offer flexible working, so if you are available 2-5 days a week, we would love to hear from you.

Person Specification
* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Care/Support Worker
* Must be 19 or over.
* Must have UK school-based experience.
* Strong knowledge of learners with ALN.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Must hold a Child and Adult DBS on update service or willing to apply for one.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
* Flexibility.
* Good organization and multitasking abilities
