This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic CBT Therapist/Psychological Therapist/Clinical/Counselling Psychologist.
This post is 1 wte Band 7 in the North East Hub covering Colchester and the Coastal Towns. EPUT offers flexible working options, and job share/part-time working can also be considered.
PMHS consists of five perinatal hubs across Essex with a MDT staff mix comprising of Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology, OT, Social Work, and Nursery Nursing. PMHS has established pathways with maternity, health visiting, secondary care mental health services, and primary care services which strengthens provision to be timely and effective for mothers in the perinatal period.
You will need to have had accredited training as well as current registration with an appropriate body such as HCPC or BABCP. You will be working alongside other qualified clinicians including Clinical and Counselling Psychologists and Psychotherapists to deliver formulation-based individual and group interventions.
There is a high standard of in-house specialist supervision available to support new and existing skills in CBT with BACAP registered supervisors as well as supervisions to support other models such as EMDR/CFT/DBT and parent-infant interventions such as VIG and COS. The service offers a comprehensive perinatal training package available for successful candidates who are looking to move into this area of work.
Main duties of the job
To deliver high-quality evidence-based interventions, both individual and group, to mothers with significant perinatal mental health needs. There will be an expectation to deliver trauma-focused interventions as the service supports a high level of trauma experienced prior and during the perinatal period.
The service also has a triage and assessment function, and you will be expected to deliver both generic and specialized assessment to support the mothers' care planning.

Job responsibilities
To deliver high-quality specialized psychological assessment and intervention, including group work.
To support MDT function with psychologically informed care planning and decision-making.
To support hub colleagues with consultations to manage high safeguarding and mental health risk presentations.
To support the delivery of training to perinatal staff on psychologically informed approaches to managing perinatal distress.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Practising CBT Therapist, Psychotherapist, or Clinical/Counselling Psychologist who is a fully qualified registered member of the relevant accrediting body e.g. HCPC, BACBP, BACP
* Has accredited trauma therapy qualifications such as EMDR
Experience
* Significant experience in working with mental health presentations
* Experience of working perinatally or with families with children aged 0-5 years
* Experience of working in teams delivering mental health assessment and intervention
* Experience of working in MDT and care planning
* Experience of delivering group psychological interventions
* Experience of delivering trauma-focused therapy interventions
