We are looking for a UK Group Commercial Manager to join our team based at our Basingstoke office with regular travel across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about driving project success and supporting the integration of new acquisitions while ensuring financial and commercial performance. In this role, you will: Dive into the financial, administrative, and accounting landscape of Sauter UK, gaining a comprehensive understanding of its core processes. Play an important part in the smooth integration of newly acquired companies, adding value through expert project commercial and financial control. Drive alignment of the acquired company’s financial processes with Sauter’s standards, acting as a key liaison between UK Group companies. Deliver objective assessments of project performance and provide insights that steer success. Lead monthly project reviews with each Project Manager, identifying and analysing trends, and proactively addressing both positive and negative variances. Recommend impactful actions to local Management and Sales Managers, enhancing the accuracy of project quotations to align with real-time project costs. Keep UK Group Management informed with insightful reports on project performance and control. Partner with local Financial Management to ensure accurate application in the Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, aligned with Percentage of Completion (POC) standards. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of the cost allocation process, ensuring every project receives precise, transparent cost mapping. Assess and improve project profitability through detailed financial analysis Ensure adherence to established processes, maintaining consistency, quality, and accuracy across all financial practices. Work closely with Project Managers to identify cost variances early on, forecasting accurately and helping to implement effective solutions that will keep projects on track. Review and support the quotation process to ensure cost estimates are reliable and realistic. Empower Project Managers with the right tools and knowledge, and support to manage projects more effectively and improve overall profitability. Develop and implement internal controls, to ensure the reliability of analyses, policies, and procedures, across the business. Who We’re Looking For A background in Quantity Surveying (QS) or Commercial Construction, with a strategic solution-oriented mindset. Strong IT skills and proficient with ERP systems, leveraging technology to drive efficiency. Has experience in a similar, project-oriented role, ideally in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and attention to detail are key. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and enjoyed working collaboratively across teams to achieve shared goals. Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities with ease. Results-driven, continuously seeking ways to enhance processes and outcomes, keeping the bigger picture in mind.
