We are looking for a Group Commercial Manager to join our team based at our Basingstoke office with regular travel across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about driving project success and supporting the integration of new acquisitions while ensuring financial and commercial performance. The Role Gain a deep understanding of Sauter UK’s financial, administrative, and accounting processes. Support the seamless integration of newly acquired companies by providing expert project commercial and financial control. Align financial practices with Sauter’s standards while acting as a key liaison across UK Group companies. Deliver objective project performance assessments, lead monthly reviews with Project Managers, and proactively address variances. Provide actionable recommendations to Management and Sales teams, refining project quotations to reflect real-time costs. Collaborate with Financial Management to ensure accurate Profit & Loss (P&L) reporting aligned with Percentage of Completion (POC) standards. Key Responsibilities Manage cost allocation for transparent and precise project cost mapping. Enhance project profitability through in-depth financial analysis. Ensure process adherence for consistent and accurate financial practices. Work with Project Managers to identify and address cost variances early. Review and support quotation processes for realistic cost estimates. Equip Project Managers with tools and knowledge to improve profitability. Develop and enforce internal controls to ensure reliable policies and procedures. Who We’re Looking For A background in Quantity Surveying (QS) or Commercial Construction, with a strategic solution-oriented mindset. Strong IT skills and proficient with ERP systems, leveraging technology to drive efficiency. Has experience in a similar, project-oriented role, ideally in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and attention to detail are key. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and enjoyed working collaboratively across teams to achieve shared goals. Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities with ease. Results-driven, continuously seeking ways to enhance processes and outcomes, keeping the bigger picture in mind.
