At a glance We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant, to join our site here at Herbert Parkinson Working pattern - Full Time vacancy - 38.75 hours per week · Monday to Friday on site: 08:00-16.15 Salary range - The annual salary for this role starts at £25,200 Contract type - This is a permanent role About the role You also can view a copy of the full job outline here:- External applicants- please view the attached job outline Internal applicants- please use the link below Essential skills you’ll need ● Previous Forecasting experience ● The ability to plan and prioritise - working towards critical paths (Launch of new product/Seasons), Providing updates and feedback to Buying Office and Stakeholders of new Product, launches, potential delays/stock issues and proposed resolution. ● Data-driven proficiency with a focus on achieving outcomes - Generate and manipulate data to provide insights into sales trends ● Effective communicator - written and verbal, dealing with variety of stakeholders both internal and external, overseas and within UK ● Experience in using Excel, formula creation and demonstrate formula knowledge Desirable skills you could bring ● Experienced user of Syscom ERP ● Experienced user of Boxi ● Skilled in negotiating such as cost pricing, delivery dates and mitigating issues where possible What will you do · Developing and maintaining customer, supplier and stakeholder relationships. You will be required to potentially visit Supplier visits, but will host weekly calls to provide updates and insights · Ensure all required commercial terms are in place for new supplier relationships. · Ensure that John Lewis Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing criteria are achieved to protect our business and brand. · Review forecasts and ensure accurate processing of purchase orders raised in line with supplier lead time. · Maintain agreed budgeted stock levels to achieve maximum availability and collating and reporting, in both verbal and written communication on KPI’S on a weekly basis. · Responsible for accurate daily update of delivery information for fabrics that are currently out of stock. · Ensure delivery documents are available for goods in the department to receive orders efficiently. · Ensure rejected fabrics are dealt with promptly and the returns procedure is followed. · Regularly meet with suppliers to review standards and conduct supplier appraisals. · Follow Herbert Parkinson process for item setup and maintenance to achieve system accuracy. · To support other areas within the department when required. · Clear and constructive communication with customers, suppliers and service providers. - provide feedback, raising orders, target dates, products, expectations and SLA’s · Develop, implement and continually improve communication between Herbert Parkinson and all stakeholder groups. · Deliver all reporting & documentation in a timely manner ensuring accuracy. · Share product knowledge for your area of responsibility with relevant stakeholders.
