About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in creating bespoke industrial machinery for the food production sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who wants to be at the forefront of innovation, design, and precision manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design Creation: Using SolidWorks to create detailed 2D and 3D designs of components, sub-assemblies, and full systems.
* Hygiene Standards: Developing designs that meet BS:1672-2 standards for hygiene in the food industry.
* Site Surveys: Conducting site surveys, gathering specifications, and translating client requirements into practical designs.
* Tech Drawings: Creating detailed technical drawings and ensuring seamless communication with manufacturing and installation teams.

Requirements:
* SolidWorks Expertise: Expertise in SolidWorks, including sheet metal design and generating accurate Drawing Exchange Formats (DXFs).
* Manufacturing Processes: A strong foundation of manufacturing processes like CNC cutting and press brake operations.
* Survey Experience: Experience in conducting surveys and transforming sketches into comprehensive designs.
* Familiarity with Industry Standards: Knowledge of food industry hygiene standards (desirable but not essential).
* CNC Programming: Familiarity with SigmaNEST or similar software for CNC programming is a bonus.
* Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and teams.
