This period of expansion is a very exciting time for the company and we are looking to speak to applicants interested in joining us our production team as a Production Planner.
About the role:
As the Manufacturing Production Planner/Scheduler, you will be responsible for highlighting any areas of concern to ensure smooth production to meet customer deadlines, liaising with all departments and making this role your own. In the long term, you will help implement the new scheduling software into our ERP system and then be ready to take over the everyday scheduling for all production departments throughout the business.
Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):
* Full understanding of an MRP system
* Release and control all Production Work Orders throughout the operations
* Co-ordinate completion of finished goods to despatch
* Work closely with Inspection and Purchasing on sub contracted work orders
* Work closely with Purchasing and Stores to advise on changes in the schedules which affect raw material supplies
* Work closely with other departments: Sales, Quality, Engineering and CAD
* Highlight production bottlenecks within the business and support PM on implementation of all process improvements
* Manage the system to ensure data integrity within the master data
* Create weekly production plans to optimise the throughput
Essential Skills/Experience:
* Previous experience in a planning function from within a manufacturing or very comparable environment, ideally at least two years
* Excellent IT skills, must be experienced in MRP systems, Excel, Word etc
* Excellent communication skills, must be a team player
* Ability to adapt and respond to changes in planning restrictions
* Excellent analytical skills
* Good organisational skills [multi-tasker], used to deadlines
