As a Security Officer at Centre City Tower, Birmingham, B5 4UA, no two days are the same, and your actions will directly impact the safety and security of the clients and the building they work in. This building is a probation centre, so frequent interaction with ex-offenders and probation staff is common. You'll be improving the quality of life for all you meet!
What you'll do:
1. Greet staff and visitors and ensure they adhere to the required security protocols, prioritizing safety and the environment for our building users.
2. Monitor CCTV, Access Control, and other protective systems.
3. Act as a first line response to activations, incidents, or fault reporting.
4. Log and transfer calls, relay messages, and provide guidance and advice to visitors, clients, contractors, and staff.
5. Carry out regular patrols throughout the shift.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Ability to interact with staff, residents, consultants, visitors, management, and local police and fire authorities.
2. Must be over the age of 18.
3. Standard SIA License is needed.
4. Excellent communication and awareness skills.
5. Experience working in a similar role.
6. Knowledge of security techniques and site and local emergency procedures.
7. Due to the nature of the site, a full DBS clearance is required.
