Hours: 35 Hours per week - Travel is Essential
Brainkind is a charity that aims to improve the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support people to regain the skills they have lost. We treat people with a range of brain injuries – sustained through trauma, illness, substance abuse and more – to recover and meet their personal goals.
MAIN PURPOSE:
1. To develop and deliver detailed plans for continued service developments in line with Brainkind core aims and objectives linked to Brainkind's Strategic Plan, including managing budgets.
2. To take overall responsibility for the effective management of projects as assigned by the Director of Operations, ensuring the provision of the highest quality standards of care and treatment, driven by the needs of the individual.
3. To meet full compliance in line with the requirement of the regulatory body and relevant legislation.
4. To support existing Service Managers to meet the quality requirements and cover the Service Manager role should the need arise.
5. To manage organic and planned change within services, to meet the demands of new business.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Demonstrate professional leadership and provide ‘hands on’ management support and guidance, managing staff activities and influencing their practices and attitudes.
2. Assume line management responsibilities for the team and lead clinicians where appropriate, to provide operational support and direction, ensuring that performance standards are identified and met.
3. Take overall responsibility for recruitment, employment and working practices, complying with Employment Law and contractual obligations, including the provision of Induction, training and support as required.
4. To be an active member of the Operations Group and take on additional defined responsibilities in relation to events such as investigations, disciplinary/grievance hearings, and management support to other services.
5. Promote exceptional customer responsiveness across the region to all stakeholders including service users, families, purchasers, referrers, and other professional partners.
6. To ensure person-centred practices and planning are implemented in any projects and service delivery models, maximising the inclusion of service users at all levels.
7. To write and disseminate summary reports to relevant stakeholders throughout the project to agreed timeframes.
8. To take a lead role, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, in the provision of service review and development.
9. Demonstrate strong people skills to ensure your team remains motivated.
10. Undertake other projects and changing activities as directed, balancing immediate needs with the longer-term vision.
11. Ensure the highest standards are adhered to in all developments of environmental space and compliance with Brainkind and external regulators.
12. Monitor quality standards using agreed audit and governance outcome measures.
13. Work in conjunction with Brainkind’s Quality Assurance and Health and Safety departments to reflect and act upon quality issues within the service.
14. Be responsible for the ongoing review of all areas of risk management within the designated location.
15. Carry out any other duties within the general scope of the post as directed by Director of Operations.
16. Undertake any reasonable travelling requirements to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.
About you
* QCF (NVQ) Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification in Social Care/Health.
* In-depth knowledge of statutory requirements such as Care Quality Commission regulations and outcomes.
* 5 years’ experience of managing Supported Living Services, Homecare Agencies and Housing legislation and regulations.
* Valid UK Driving Licence.
