What you’ll be responsible for
As a credible member of the Transport Services team you will:
* Be part of the team which maintains, services and repairs the DCWW vehicle fleet.
* Work in a professional environment and support the team and the wider business in keeping the fleet in the best possible condition through the highest standards of maintenance.
As a Transport Technician you will:
* Ensure that the DCWW fleet is maintained in line with MOT / DVSA standards.
* Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with our Business Management system.
* Support the performance of the Team by working in a professional and efficient way.
* Ensure that all aspects of vehicle and plant maintenance are completed, including paperwork and job card / record keeping.
* Support the team in achieving safety, performance and budget targets.
* Respond to customer requests and requirements as necessary.
Principal Accountabilities
* Inspection of HGV Vehicles and Trailers to DVSA standards.
* Preparation of HGV Vehicle and Trailers for Annual Plating test.
* Carry out the routine servicing of vehicles in line with manufacturers standards.
* Repair and maintain vehicles and plant in a safe and roadworthy condition and in line with MOT / DVSA standards.
* Complete all associated documents for SAP processing within each calendar month.
* Purchase all materials from nominated suppliers.
* Maintain all workshop records in accordance with BMS procedures.
* Carry out repairs and servicing to industry standard times.
* Assist in achieving business plan targets.
* Carry out all work in accordance with the company’s Health And Safety policy and systems.
* Available for Standby / Callout on a schedule rota system.

* Transport Services team.
* Vehicle users / internal customers.
* All other internal functions as required.
External:
* Suppliers.
* Service providers such as MOT stations.
* Other external agents, including customers, as required.
About you
Experience, Qualifications and Skills:
* Full UK Driving License.
* Experienced in maintaining Commercial vehicles / LGV’s to DVSA standards.
* A good knowledge of health and safety requirements in vehicle maintenance.
* Good computer skills – Excel, Email and Fleet systems.
* The ability to work on your own initiative, to plan and organise workloads and to complete all necessary documentation.
* NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy vehicle Technology with post apprenticeship experience on HGV vehicles.
