An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assurance Manager - Schemes to join our existing UKGI (General Insurance) Underwriting Assurance Team within Risk & Governance. If you are someone who has a strong attention to detail, commercially astute and good at building strong and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and you have a natural curiosity and tenacity to identify and analyse gaps in underwriting, outsourcing and conduct risks, we would love to hear from you!
A bit about the job:
Using a variety of analytical and assurance testing techniques, you will conduct Delegated Underwriting Scheme audits (remotely and onsite at the Brokers office) and provide holistic risk and control challenge, guidance, and support, helping to secure good customer outcomes, protect the reputation of the business and helping it grow safely. Working as part of a team, you will be a key contributor in delivering elements of the UKGI Underwriting Schemes Assurance plan. Whilst a natural curiosity and ability to deal with ambiguity is key, knowledge of Commercial lines products or assurance testing will be beneficial to allow the role holder to drive change and support the business in developing appropriate solutions. The role holder will have the opportunity to both lead and support in activities including, information gathering and analysis, report writing, handling the resolution of actions, regulatory interpretation, and working to sustainably embed risk management across the business.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
* In-depth knowledge of the commercial lines underwriting, including the risk & control environment, strategic, operational, conduct and regulatory matters.
* Assurance or control testing skills - including the ability to scope, develop and execute assurance reviews and recommend sustainable resolution.
* Relationship/stakeholder management skills and are comfortable being challenging being persuasive with energy, enthusiasm, and resilience.
* Self-starter and disciplined with proactive planning and organisational skills and the agility to multitask and meet deadlines.
* Driving license with the ability and willingness to travel to Broker's office.

* National salary: circa £58,000, London salary: circa £68,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
