About the role
Dune are looking for a new Management Accountant to join our team in this exciting time of company growth as we open stores worldwide. This role is responsible for the reporting, planning and controlling of specific costs for the business relating to the Dune Head Office, as well as the entire P&L for our Dune International business. They will also work alongside the Senior Finance Manager in all aspects of external financial accounting, reporting, and tax compliance. We are looking for someone that is willing to speak their mind and be a great input to the team.
Responsibilities
Reporting/Analysis
* Responsibility for period end journals relating to CSO (Central Support Office) costs (including marketing, IT and payroll) ensuring any variances to plan are fully understood through discussion with relevant business partners.
* Co-ordinating with others in finance to ensure that the timetable is adhered to.
* Provide meaningful P&L and Balance Sheet commentary on areas within responsibility both within the month end pack and by presenting to the finance team during the monthly “flash reviews.”
* Performing all month end tasks for Dune International extending to business partnering for the divisions on sales and margin and supporting with ad hoc queries.
* Performing all financial reporting tasks associated with Capex including raising capex codes and preparing commentary against budget.
Planning
* Responsibility for maintaining rolling business forecasts for CSO costs, liaising with relevant business partners to ensure the most accurate forward-looking view is obtained.
* Ownership of the annual budget for CSO costs.
* Rigorous review of business partner assumptions and challenging these where appropriate.
* Support the Head of Financial Control & International with the sales and margin budget for Dune International.
Audit
* Assist in the year-end audit process, providing the auditors with all schedules and explanations that they require. Opportunity to step up and manage smaller audits as individual develops in the role.
Tax
* Assist in the production of UK and European branch tax returns as per required deadlines.
Controls
* Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations at each period end, ensuring reconciling items are resolved on a timely basis.
* Co-ordinating with business partners to ensure that spending is proactively managed against budget and providing them with all necessary support to understand performance.
* Working with the business on cost control/initiatives in relation to CSO.
