Working with a highly specialized group of long-standing experts in the automotive online product delivery space, our new Product owner will take ownership of successful product delivery, focusing on customers in the UK and USA.
At KCS the primary role of the Product Owner is to take ownership of the product backlog and to manage the delivery of any new features or fixes for the product.
They work with the Development Team to ensure there are clear priorities and development goals which deliver maximum value to the business and our customers
Amongst many other exciting duties, you will be expected to deliver on the following:
What you're going to do
1. Be the go to product contact for the development team and be available to carry out any demos and lead any requirement gathering or story mapping workshops with customers and stakeholders
2. Elicit customer and stakeholders’ requirements, translating them into epics, with architect guidance, and user stories that can be worked on by the Development Team to meet the acceptance criteria
3. Manage, refine and prioritise the product backlog determined by Product Management to ensure it is in a healthy state to aid with release planning
4. Actively participate and contribute in all Agile team ceremonies to help coach the team on what the minimal viable solution needs to achieve in order to solve the users’ problem
5. Set sprint goals for the Development Team then manage and report any release delivery risk (quality or timescales etc) to Product/Project Management teams so they can manage stakeholder expectations
6. Review any release documentation before it is published by the Development Team to ensure it articulates change benefits and carry out any user acceptance testing before any release is completed
Key experience, knowledge, skills and qualities
7. Experienced in working with different levels of people of low or high technical ability to solicit requirements with a focus on the problem and value statements, not the end solution
8. Experienced in creating, maintaining and prioritizing product backlogs using product management tools (e.g. JIRA or Azure DevOps)
9. Experienced in working within an Agile delivery framework for business management software development companies (e.g. Scrum or Kanban)
10. Experienced in leading, developing and coaching a team to build a collaborative self-organized culture and team spirit
11. Working knowledge of overall software development life cycle processes and best practices (e.g. development, testing and deployment)
12. Working knowledge of the Kerridge Commercial Services markets/customers and use cases in which our core ERP products are present

13. The ability to communicate clearly requirements effectively from both a functional and non-functional perspective to form any acceptance criteria and delivery for the team
