For a September 2025 start, The Prep’s Sports Department is looking to appoint a Sports Professional to be responsible for the coaching of girls and boys in sport throughout The Prep. The postholder will also have the opportunity to coach sport at the Senior School.
In their specialist sport(s), the Sports Professional will take a role in managing a coaching development structure across the whole of the Prep. The Sports Professional will work towards College's Sporting Aims: to promote a lifetime investment in sport and physical activity, where pupils can achieve success from engagement and participation through to competition and elite performance.
In addition, the candidate would be a resident tutor in the Prep boarding house and would be expected to undertake duties and responsibilities to assist with the smooth running and pastoral care of the children.
Sports professionals have a fantastic time living and working in a supportive and rewarding environment, gaining great experience, working really hard in a seven-day-a-week boarding school – and having great fun. The Professional may also be asked to take on wider College responsibilities as is reasonably required. These are not a requirement of the post, but may be taken on according to the appointee's skills and wishes and the College's needs.
Under the line management of the Prep Head of Girls Games, Nicki Gidman, sports professionals will also assist in the management of key areas of sport's busy programme and will gain valuable experience in administration, marketing and communications.
Our sports professionals work in an incredibly supportive environment, where collaboration and working as part of a team is hugely important. You will work alongside, amongst others, Olly Morgan (Director of Rugby and former England rugby international), and Gwyn Williams (Director of Hockey and current Assistant Coach for Wales U21) and we will aim to develop your coaching across a range of sports.
