About the Role
Martin at New Formation Education is thrilled to be partnering with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth to recruit a compassionate and creative Behaviour Learning Mentor. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Challenging Behaviour, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and other learning challenges.
The school is looking for someone who can act as a positive role model, foster strong relationships, and support students in managing their emotions and behaviour. While a background in sports, performing arts, drama, or other creative fields is appreciated, it is not essential-what matters most is your ability to connect with and inspire young learners.
Responsibilities
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to students with ASC, SEMH, ADHD, and challenging behaviour
- Assisting in implementing behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs
- Encouraging students to develop self-confidence, emotional resilience, and social skills
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a consistent and effective approach
Requirements
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a warm, patient, and empathetic approach
- A background in sports, performing arts, drama, or other creative fields is welcomed but not essential
- Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and positive in challenging situations
- Previous experience working with children in any capacity is beneficial
