OC Accounts main duties will be managing the Public Cash and Bank Account, management of Non-Public Accounting and assisting the Station Business Manager (SBM) with In-Year management as required. This post is advertised as Full Time at 37 hours per week with the potential to work Friday's remotely. Job description The post holder will be responsible for: The day to day running of the Accounts Flight. The management of the Public Cash and Bank Account and Non-Public Accounting, including: Assist with management checks and surprise checks of cash and COM transactions. Reporting, actioning, and investigating losses, discrepancies, suspect transactions, and recoveries. Production and maintenance of the Cash Security Plan. Ensuring that a formal responsibility check is conducted for any handover/takeovers of the Public Bank Account and Service Funds Bank Account The day-to-day operation of the station Service Funds bank accounts Providing a routine accounting and cash handling service The reconciliation of Service Funds Bank Accounts, settling credit transactions and provision of monthly statements Ensuring that appropriate financial records are maintained. Preparing annual balance sheets. Attending Mess committee meetings. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders. The creation and maintenance of the Service Funds Risk Register. The production of the End of Year Charity Paperwork for Service Funds. The management and review of the Station Investment Policy in accordance with current regulations. Research Governance and Assurance issues and where appropriate discuss with the SBM before providing advice. Management of all aspects of business management in your area of responsibility regarding the annual Public Accounting Compliance Review and the Internal Control & Assurance Framework.. Line Management of 2x Admin Officer Accounts Clerks and 1x Locally Employed Civilian. Person specification This role is suited to someone who is highly organised, confident using IT and enjoys being part of a high performing team. The successful candidate must be able to interpret policy to make sound decisions, whilst working in a busy operational environment as tasks can be time sensitive but also require careful consideration to ensure appropriate scrutiny is applied to all decisions. The ability to communicate effectively is essential as you will be engaging with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally.
