The DCMS Recruitment Team is part of the department’s People and Workplace Directorate (P&W). P&W is responsible for the department’s HR function, which includes HR policy, HR business partnering, HR operations, talent, diversity and inclusion and L&D, as well as security and estates.
The Recruitment Team is a high-performing and friendly team whose work has been recognised at industry level. We work closely with teams across the department to recruit into roles - up to and including executive level - and also have responsibility for the department’s major policy and strategy initiatives in the recruitment space which include diversity and inclusion, outreach, data and workforce changes.
The team has two distinct ‘branches’ which cover these functions, but all work together closely. We have time scheduled daily where we work as one to solve problems and to share our learning, and we each play a part in creating, and sustaining, an open and inclusive culture. We are friendly, open, collaborative and supportive - and expect the same in return.
This is an exciting time to join the recruitment team and DCMS, as we head into a period of rapid growth over the next 6 months.
As a Recruitment Coordinator, you will work closely with the Resourcing Business Partners (RBPs) to support the delivery of innovative, inclusive and effective resourcing plans. You will work across DCMS, providing support with candidate assessment and selection across all grades and will ensure an outstanding candidate experience and a seamless selection process.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast paced delivery environment, is organised, proactive and has a keen interest in process improvement and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their recruitment experience or for someone looking to take the first step into recruitment and the wider HR function.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
* Producing sift and interview packs to support Resourcing Business Partners and tracking the process of the vacancies within your business areas.
* Taking a proactive approach to managing the shared team mailbox, responding to ad-hoc queries and ensuring enquiries are answered within service level agreements and contain accurate advice.
* Working with the recruitment team on various improvement projects and outreach activities.
* Building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with our service provider; Government Recruitment Services (GRS), the wider Recruitment Team, HR team and key stakeholders in your allocated business areas to support the delivery of resourcing plans.
* Delivering an exceptional service to vacancy holders and candidates involved in the recruitment process.
* Ensure all recruitment activities are accurately tracked on the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and relevant trackers.
* Coordinating pre-employment checks and first stages of onboarding for candidates joining the department. You will need to form sound working relationships with colleagues in our HR Operations team to do this.
