Ward Clerk - NHS@Home Virtual Ward, Band 3 ( hours a week)
Would you like the opportunity to support an innovative new initiative in Gloucestershire which is helping to revolutionize the way in which we provide care and support to our patients? We are looking for a skilled, experienced and enthusiastic, Ward Clerk / Administrator to support our NHS@Home Virtual Ward Hub. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with multi disciplinary teams across the One Gloucestershire system by providing administrative and secretarial support. You will provide exemplary care across your work and be able to adopt a flexible approach to meet the needs of the individual and team objectives. You will be responsible for a number of office systems and will maintain confidentiality at all times alongside liaising with patients and families to support the NHS @ Home Virtual Ward Care Team.

Main duties of the job
You will be communicating with a wide range of stakeholders from across the One Gloucestershire system including patients and their relatives. As a result of this you will be handling both internal and external phone calls and emails and you will be following these up in a professionally and friendly manner. This may include phone calls to patients and their families and it is essential you are able to handle the sensitivities that this requires. You will be using Trust IT systems as well as a full suite of Microsoft Office programmes to aid your work. You will be responsible for a number of office processes including ordering stationary and stock control. You will be ensuring that departmental spreadsheets and information systems are accurate and up to date and that information shared complies with confidentiality regulations where needed. You will have excellent self motivation and take a proactive approach to you work and be able to prioritize your own workload.

Qualifications
Essential
1. GCSE or Equivalent
2. Good Literary and Numeracy Skills
3. NVQ Level 1 in administration or equivalent experience
Desirable
4. European Computer Driving License (ECDL) or equivalent
Experience

5. Substantial Admin/Secretarial experience, working with limited or no direct supervision in a busy office environment. Previous experience of using software packages such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
6. Experience of Data Inputting and Retrieval and experience of maintaining a comprehensive filing system.
7. Experience of preparation of agendas, taking and distribution of minutes.
8. Experience of setting up and monitoring manual and electronic systems and processes
Desirable
9. Previous experience in an inpatient hospital environment or NHS. Previous experience of using a telephone switchboard .
Knowledge/ Skills

10. Good understanding of Health and Safety and risk awareness.
11. Understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality and exercise judgement when dealing with sensitive information
