Working within the Corporate Affairs team and reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, the purpose of the ESG Manager role is to support the development and delivery of Greenergy's sustainability strategy.
Applicants must demonstrate experience of delivering the requirements of the role, ideally within the energy or logistics sectors. We are looking for a person who has a pragmatic attitude to the challenges and opportunities for our industry with the decarbonisation transition. You will be a self-starter and have the proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders across the business and externally to deliver programmes of ESG and associated reporting activity.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and policy
* Developing and implementing ESG strategies, policies, and frameworks that align with Greenergy's values and goals.
* Conducting thorough ESG assessments and identifying key sustainability risks, opportunities, and performance indicators.
* Collaborating with executives, management, and staff members to integrate ESG practices and ensure communication and understanding of ESG strategy and related programmes.
* Monitoring and reporting on ESG performance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, ratings agency ecosystem, industry standards, and reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, CSRD, ETAS, CBAM).
* Engaging with stakeholders, such as employees, customers, and communities, to communicate Greenergy's sustainability efforts and foster meaningful relationships.
* Staying updated on emerging ESG trends, best practices, and regulatory developments to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
* Work with ESG and Corporate Affairs and Government Affairs team to effectively communicate any proposed legislative changes to affected Greenergy departments, supporting with the implementation of any new requirements.
Analytics and reporting
* Co-ordinate and manage completion of ESG related questionnaires and data requests.
* Work to collect ESG data and information necessary for ESG reporting to align with relevant reporting frameworks and internal needs.
* Emissions data and reporting - including drafting and reviewing carbon numbers, creation of carbon emissions calculations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience within Sustainability and ESG.
* Demonstrable experience in an ESG/Sustainability role.
* Experience of ESG reporting frameworks (Sustainable development goals, TCFD) and benchmarking systems.
* Experience of carbon and emissions reporting.
* Analytical skills - ability to collect, interpret and present data.
* Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, ESG frameworks, and relevant regulations.
* Proficiency in conducting ESG assessments, analysing data, and identifying material issues.
* Familiarity with ESG reporting standards and frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) and experience in preparing sustainability reports.
* Ability to develop and implement ESG strategies, policies, and frameworks tailored to Greenergy's objectives and industry.
* Financial acumen to link sustainability initiatives to business value and articulate the financial implications of ESG practices.
* Experience in conducting stakeholder engagement and managing relationships within the business, regulators, NGOs, and other key stakeholders.
* Proficient in project management, data analysis, and utilising ESG-related software tools.
