The firm has a strong reputation in private wealth law, advising high-net-worth individuals, families, and trustees on complex matters. As part of their continued expansion, they are looking for a senior Private Wealth Solicitor with a minimum of 8 years' PQE to join one of their offices in the West Midlands. The ideal candidate will have a following or book of referrers, a deep knowledge of the local market, and ideally be a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
As a senior Private Wealth Solicitor in one of the firm's West Midlands offices, you will manage a wide-ranging caseload of private client matters, including estate planning, inheritance tax advice, wills, trusts, probate, and succession planning. You will take the lead in advising high-net-worth clients, building and maintaining client relationships, and contributing to the strategic growth of the office. This is a key role in growing the firm's private wealth offering, where your following or network of referrers will be essential in driving business development and raising the firm's profile in the local market.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing a diverse and complex portfolio of private client matters, including trusts, wills, probate, estate planning, and inheritance tax
* Advising high-net-worth individuals, families, and trustees on wealth management, succession planning, and tax-efficient strategies
* Building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients, providing high-quality, tailored legal services
* Using your following or book of referrers to drive new business and expand the firm's private wealth client base in the West Midlands
* Collaborating with colleagues across the firm to offer integrated services and solutions to clients
* Mentoring and supporting junior team members, helping to foster a collaborative and dynamic team culture
* Actively contributing to business development and raise the firm's profile in the local market
* Playing a key role in managing and developing the private wealth practice within your office in the West Midlands
Requirements:
* UK qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 8 years' PQE in private wealth law
* Trained with a reputable leading law firm, with a first-class private client team
* A member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) is preferred, or a strong commitment to joining STEP
* Extensive experience handling a range of private client matters, including trusts, estates, inheritance tax, probate, and succession planning
* A following or book of referrers within the private wealth sector is essential, or significant knowledge of the local West Midlands market
* Strong client management skills with a focus on building lasting relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families
* Proven business development skills, with a track record of generating new business and expanding client bases
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior team members
* A proactive and entrepreneurial approach to expanding the firm's private wealth services
