Brief description of support work
Personal care primarily with some domestic support to an elderly woman in her home. Blister pack meds. The lady has dementia, poor mobility, is blind, and has a retired guide dog. Lives with husband, who would be your employer. Slight moving and handling. Lives near City Centre – but free car parking for the worker. Has a PA Team of 2 in place but needs additional hours of support as below.
Hours and rate of pay: Up to 35 hours per week at £13 per hour.
Days and hours: Flexible - part or full time to suit, preference for weekends, and 12-hour waking nights available if wished.
Person specification: A woman of any age who has some basic experience of providing care and support to an adult or older person. Someone with a flexible and relaxed approach and a sense of humour. No formal qualifications are required. A driving license is not necessary.
The role is open to female applicants only. This is a genuine occupational requirement. Applicants should either be members of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or be willing to join. The employer will meet the cost.
