Skilled Groundsperson Cranleigh School require a highly motivated Skilled Groundsperson to join our busy Grounds team to maintain the School Grounds to a high standard across several school campuses. Cranleigh School is set in 280 acres of Surrey countryside, eight miles from Guildford and close to the thriving village of Cranleigh. Responsibilities The main duties of the role will include assisting with the preparation and maintenance of natural and artificial sports and recreation facilities including a 9-hole golf course. Working as part of a team you will also be involved in the maintenance and enhancement of the wider estate so will be expected to possess appropriate skills/experience and demonstrate a flexible approach to work and a positive ‘can do’ attitude. What we are looking for The ideal candidate will have relevant experience from working within the sports turf industry, a thorough knowledge of the safe set up and use of modern equipment, confidence to assess pitches for their playability and good communication skills to be able to successfully liaise with coaches and other members of staff. Experience of sports grounds maintenance and relevant NVQ 2 or equivalent qualifications are an advantage but not essential. Full training will be provided.
