Job Brief: Marine Recreational Fisheries Field Surveyors (7) £100-120 per working day from July 2023 to June 2024 (4h/ working day & travel) £21000 pro rata United Kingdom The Angling Trust is seeking Field Surveyors to deliver new research project, Catchwise (www.catchwise.org). There are 7 freelance/self-employed contracts available across England and Wales: Wales (2), South West (1), South East (1), East of England (1) Yorkshire & Humber (1) and East Midlands (1, 20 days per quarter) Field Surveyors are required to do 45 surveying days per quarter (20 per quarter for East Midlands). Working days consist of 4 hours of surveying plus travel. Expressions of interest are welcome across all regions The project is being co-delivered by Substance, Cefas and The Angling Trust and is funded by Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Responsibilities: Responsibilities include conducting face-to-face, site-based surveys which will be randomly allocated to you throughout a designated region. Survey data will be entered via online survey app which Substance will manage. Other responsibilities will include liaising with the local angling community, project coordinator and volunteer teams, attending training sessions, and reporting your activities to a central system. Skills Required: Prior experience in scientific or social science surveying would be desirable. Good communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with other members of the research team are essential. Apply by Monday 5th June.
