Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £12.90 - £14.50

Are you passionate about supporting children and families in an educational setting? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team in a mixed role that combines the responsibilities of a Primary Teaching Assistant and a Family Support Worker. This role is full-time hours (Monday-Friday), but will be split into two part-time positions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Support classroom teaching, assisting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons.
2. Help individual students or small groups with learning activities and ensure their engagement.
3. Provide additional support to children with special educational needs (SEN), adapting resources and methods as necessary.
4. Monitor student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and offering tailored support to meet the needs of each student.
2. As a Family Support Worker, you will:
1. Build positive relationships with families, offering guidance and support to enhance home-school connections.
2. Work with families to identify needs and provide practical advice or referrals to appropriate services.
3. Support the emotional wellbeing of children and their families, offering a safe space for discussions and problem-solving.
4. Assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve attendance, behaviour, and learning outcomes for students.
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
2. Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies.
3. A caring, empathetic approach to working with children and families.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. A clear understanding of safeguarding procedures.
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience in a Family Support Worker role or equivalent training.
2. Knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
3. An understanding of the challenges families face and how to support them effectively.
