Currently located in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Experimental Psychology will be moving to the new, purpose-built Life and Mind Building ( https://lifeandmind.web.ox.ac.uk/ ) a multidisciplinary research and teaching facility due to open in the summer of 2025. We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Finance Manager to support the financial management of the Department. This is a key management role assuming full responsibility for financial matters, working closely with the Deputy and Head of Administration and Finance to develop the department’s financial strategy. You will be responsible for the annual budgeting and forecasting process using effective financial modelling techniques to ensure that the financial position of the Department is closely monitored, and that accurate accounts are provided to senior management, budget holders and stakeholders. In preparation for the department’s move to the LaMB you will work closely with the Finance Manager in the Department of Biology to develop and manage the cost sharing model for the shared building operation, with due consideration to the impact on Experimental Psychology. As team leader, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day management and motivation of the finance team to ensure workloads are managed and prioritised so that targets and deadlines are met and a high-quality service is provided. The position is offered full time on a permanent basis starting as soon as possible. This position requires a high level of leadership, management and interpersonal skills including the provision of expert opinion and advice, contributing to university wide goals, sharing best practice and keeping abreast of changing environment and policy.
