Young Person Mentor – Sport & Wellbeing Focus
Pay: £13.75 per hour / £89.83 per day (paid weekly)
Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional learning needs? Do you have a background in sports and a desire to use your skills to inspire and engage? If you're looking for full-time weekday work with no weekends, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
The Role
Teaching Personnel is working with a specialist school in Penarth that supports students aged 3–19 with a range of additional learning needs (ALN). The school uses sport and team-building activities to help develop communication, independence, and social skills.
Your Responsibilities
1. Lead and support students in sports and team-building activities
2. Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
3. Encourage independence and life skills development
4. Work closely with trained staff in a nurturing, inclusive setting
5. Support students with both behavioural and emotional needs
What We’re Looking For
1. A background or interest in sport, fitness, or youth mentoring
2. A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach
3. Willingness to learn and grow within a special education environment
4. Commitment to working full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm)
5. Experience with ALN is desirable but not essential
