As a Trainee Civil Engineer, you will become a part of the infrastructure team, supporting the construction and delivery of the bridge replacement project in Clifton, Penrith, Cumbria.
What you’ll do:
* Survey the site and set out for the construction operatives.
* Check the quality of construction operatives’ work.
* Produce permits such as permits to excavate, or vegetation clearance permits.
* Manage daily diary of site activities and attend morning shift briefings.
* Develop a practical understanding of the importance of health and safety and environmental requirements in civil engineering.
What you'll bring to the role:
* 3 A-levels at Grade A - C, preferably in Maths and a Physical Science, BTEC Extended National Diploma or equivalent level 3 qualification.
* 5 GCSEs at Grades 5-9 including Maths, English, and Science or equivalent.
* Enjoy working with other people.
* Enthusiasm to learn.
What qualification will you be studying towards?
Degree Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering at a local University on a weekly or block release basis.
You will also work towards the Incorporated Civil Engineer (IEng MICE) professional qualification with the support of Skanska’s ICE accredited Training Agreement.
