About The Opportunity
The Projects Accountant & Analyst will provide finance and administrative support to the Track Projects department. This role focuses on managing sales orders, timesheets, invoicing, payments, and debt recovery. The position also includes supporting the Finance Manager with account preparation, audits, and financial system improvements, while working towards proficiency in data analysis and reporting across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Administration:
o Ensure accurate data capture, processing, invoicing, payments, and reporting for Projects and Possession Management.
o Maintain a register of all purchase orders, tracking variances between requested and supplied values.
o Assist with invoicing, credit control, payroll checking, and processing.
* Client and Supplier Management:
o Build strong relationships with clients to streamline order processes and ensure billing accuracy.
o Ensure all subcontractor and agency invoices are approved for onward charges only.
* Accounts and Audit Support:
o Assist with the preparation and review of management accounts for the Track Projects department.
o Support the Finance Manager in audit-related matters and financial system improvements.
* Data Analysis and Reporting:
o Work with the delivery team to understand accounts, revenue, and cost drivers.
o Support the finance team in delivering dashboard reporting to the business.
* Systems and Compliance:
o Act as a superuser for Signal, supporting system developments and providing training.
o Ensure compliance with new client and supplier processes, as well as new starter and leaver procedures.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
* Complete and accurate data entry of timesheets, invoices, and sales orders.
* Reduction of uninvoiced items to minimal levels, with none older than four weeks.
* Subcontractor invoices supported by comprehensive audit trails.
* Timely completion of management accounts within four weeks of month-end.
* No overdue debt and consistent weekly flash reporting.
About You
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and financial management skills. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication abilities, and demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience:
* Excellent communication skills (email, face-to-face, telephone).
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to challenge processes constructively and produce high-quality work.
* IT literacy with strong Excel skills; Power BI experience is advantageous.
* Previous administrative experience is essential.
* Working towards an accountancy qualification (e.g., AAT).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in the construction industry and working with Quantity Surveyors.
