Opportunity for an experienced Transport Planning Technician to join our growing team in Bristol, BS1 4UA. Working as a member of the Transport Planning team, you will assist project managers and other team members in preparing the highway works drawings to support planning applications. This will include preliminary design of access and basic junction design (priority, roundabouts, signals), detailed review of site layouts including vehicle tracking and development of access strategies to support large strategic developments. Your Role Preparing concept highway layouts and Active Travel Routes. Designing highway improvement schemes. Prepare 2D highway and junction layouts to MfS and DMRB design standards. Undertake initial access design works for residential and commercial schemes. Develop preliminary access strategies. Supporting the administration of projects, including maintaining records. Assisting with site visits to collect information or observe existing situations. Working collaboratively within your team and with others on multidisciplinary projects. This is primarily a desk-based role, working together with a diverse team, out of our Bristol, Cheltenham or Bedford offices, with occasional site visits. Our Essential Requirements Experience of preparing concept highway designs in the UK. Working knowledge of relevant design standards including MfS, DMRB and LTN1/20. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Vehicle Tracking (or similar). Effective communication and collaboration skills Ability to think in a methodical way to design, plan and organize parts of projects.
