Description Key Responsibilities: 1. Check fridge and freezer temperatures upon arrival, recording temperatures as per protocol. 2. Prepare and cook breakfast items, ensuring a sufficient quantity of food is available at all times. Assist in servery areas as needed. 3. Maintain a full understanding of HACCP principles and ensure compliance with food safety guidelines. 4. Prepare afternoon tea and menu salads, as well as any ordered salads of the day and sandwiches. 5. Assist the chef in delivering food services to residents, adhering to quality and food safety guidelines. 6. Monitor and control waste to minimize food wastage. 7. Operate all kitchen equipment following standard operating procedures to ensure safety and efficiency. 8. Adhere to personal hygiene guidelines and ensure all team members do the same. 9. Lead the team with respect and dignity, fostering a positive working environment. 10. Inform the catering manager of any deviations from safe food practices or procedures. 11. Assist the chef and catering manager in maintaining accreditation standards through consistent adherence to policies and procedures. 12. Demonstrate and commit to leadership skills, setting a positive example for the team. Skills And Experiences - Proven experience working in a similar role, preferably in a residential aged care facility or hospitality environment. - Certification or training in food safety and hygiene. - Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations. - Ability to operate kitchen equipment and follow standard operating procedures. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Leadership qualities with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration. - High level of personal hygiene and cleanliness. - Flexibility to work early mornings, starting at 6 am.
