Job summary Southwark Community Dermatology is seeking 2 Fixed Term (18 month) part time (1PA and 2PA) General Practitioner with Extended Role in Dermatology to join a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking team. The department is currently involved in many exciting initiatives and are looking for an individual(s) with appropriate skills to complement this team and help keep the service in the forefront of clinical and academic excellence. The post holder(s) will be expected to show drive and initiative towards patient care putting the patient first. He/She should have significant experience in the provision of primary care services and either hold accreditation or seeking accreditation in dermatology, by completing a dermatology diploma or equivalent training. This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team in an active and progressive community service delivered on the sites of Guy's Hospital and Elm Lodge Surgery. Main duties of the job The post-holder will be responsible to Southwark Community Clinic Lead Dr Amr Salam and GPwER Lead Dr Naomi Kemp. The post-holder will be accountable to Dr Stephen Thomas Clinical Director for Genetics, Rheumatology, Infection, Dermatology, Allergy and Sexual Health SDU. It is intended that the role of the Community Dermatology Southwark (CDS) GPwERs will be broadly in line with the RCGP 2018 'Guidance and competences to support the accreditation of GPs with Extended Roles (GPwERs)'. GPwERs will, in conjunction with Kings Health partners and under the auspices of IHL, provide a SEL CCG commissioned clinical service for Southwark GP registered patients with non-urgent dermatological problems that do not fall within the 2week wait remit. The GPwERS will be closely involved in developing dermatology services for the Southwark population working closely with local trusts and other clinical networks. They will support development of local guidelines and assist in the delivery of the training and education of local clinicians. The GPwER will offer 9-10 consultations as a mixture of new, follow up and telephone follow-up patients.
