Job summary This is a challenging and highly attractive role for any advanced nurse practitioner who aims to act as a highly experienced, knowledgeable and educated member of the team who is able to work autonomously making decisions to treat health needs of surgical patients with colorectal disease including cancer. There will be the opportunity to develop skills if not already available e.g. surgical skills in theatre, prescribing, etc.). The job is also focussed on providing and ensuring the delivery of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) principles for patients with primary colorectal cancer. The role encompasses the whole patient journey in the hospital, from preadmission to post-discharge. The post holder will be expected to dedicate 50% of their time delivering enhanced recovery to patients after colorectal surgery.
