The MILD Group, a leading group of book businesses based in central London, is looking for a numerate and meticulous Client Accounts Assistant.
The successful candidate will support our client accounts and royalties work for our copyright licensing company, The Marsh Agency, on behalf of our list of high-profile, international clients. This is an excellent opportunity to enter or progress in the client accounts profession and gain experience in this fundamental area of the book business.
As a Client Accounts Assistant, the role involves working alongside our experienced Client Accounts Manager to ensure the timely and accurate administration of client accounts:
1. Checking and entering of earning and unearned royalty statements onto a dedicated publishing software package.
2. Resolving queries on possible errors on royalty statements.
3. Checking statements against contracts.
4. Raising royalty invoices where necessary.
5. Running overdue UK/foreign advances and royalties reports and liaising with agents and publishers regarding outstanding payments.
6. Running overdue UK/foreign statements reports and liaising with agents and publishers regarding these.
7. Running overdue UK/foreign contracts reports and liaising with agents and publishers regarding expired licenses.
8. Checking if tax reduction/exemption forms are necessary to perform any of the above functions.
9. Collating, scanning, and filing royalty statements for clients.
10. Scanning and filing contracts.
11. Further general assistance with all accounts and royalty income processing work.
The person:
1. Someone who enjoys and is confident working with numbers.
2. Someone who is IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and is confident working with databases and spreadsheets.
3. Ability to work calmly and precisely under pressure.
4. Necessary adherence to and appreciation of confidentiality and protocol.
5. Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
6. Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
8. Excellent time management skills.
9. Practical approach to problem solving and a hands-on attitude.
10. Ideally one year’s experience working in client accounts with knowledge of using the Bradbury Philips Agency Manager software.

Salary range: £22,000-£24,000, dependent on experience. This is a full-time role.
Location: Currently based on a hybrid working pattern with 2-3 days per week at central London offices, working from home otherwise.
