We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our busy and efficient payroll team to ensure that the RSC's weekly and monthly payrolls are processed accurately and on time. Reporting to the Payroll Manager key areas of responsibility include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list): Attaching new employees to monthly payrolls and processing payments/deductions Collecting timesheets for monthly payrolls Reconciling variable elements of payroll and explaining variances Creation and submission of weekly and monthly BACS files Producing weekly and monthly upload files for the pension scheme and uploading to the portal. Reconciling pension schemes and submitting the file Dealing with and solving payroll queries Submission of monthly HMRC payment of Tax and National Insurance contributions To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience: Significant payroll processing experience and knowledge. The ability to maintain confidentiality. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and Word. Excellent attention to detail, quality, and accuracy with data. The ability to manually calculate tax and national insurance. Knowledge of current HMRC legislation in respect of PAYE and National Insurance. Strong communication and organisational skills. Proven ability and commitment to meet deadlines and able to work under pressure. This is a full-time, permanent position, based in Stratford-upon-Avon. The Finance department works to a hybrid model. Typically, team members work an average of 2 – 3 days remotely each week, but this varies according to specific work activity and is subject to line manager approval. The normal hours of work are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the understanding that additional hours may be required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.
