Closing Date: 24th April 2025 Location: Garvagh & Portadown MAINTENANCE ENGINEERS Ref: ME/GP/04/25 Contract: Permanent, Full Time - 46 hours/ week Variable shift pattern designated by a weekly rota between Monday to Sunday (Inclusive) to include evenings, weekends & Bank Holidays- shifts will be discussed at interview Locations: Garvagh/Portadown Purpose of the Job An excellent opportunity has arisen for Full Time Maintenance Engineers to join the Team at our depots in Garvagh and Portadown, to help maximise the throughput of the MRFs (Material Recovery Facilities) by completing scheduled and breakdown maintenance of the waste processing equipment on our sites. Key Roles & Responsibilities Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and breakdown maintenance of machinery, ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum. Ability to read engineering drawings to assist with construction, assembly, and fitting of plant machinery/parts. Reporting of tasks completed in an efficient manner through our maintenance software. Carry out daily maintenance inspections of the equipment to ensure that all plant equipment is operationally safe and in compliance with relevant legislation and company policy. Support the operational team to ensure the facility operates at the operational efficiency targets. Assist with the control of stock levels of spare parts on site and reporting this information to Operations Supervisor/manager. Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Company. Essential Criteria To be considered for this role, you should display the following: Minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in mechanical, electrical or mechatronic engineering and have completed 3 years apprenticeship in an engineering field OR 5 years' hands on experience working in either an electrical /mechanical /mechatronic engineering role. Enthusiastic and competent problem solver with a practical approach to engineering problems. Ability to read engineering drawing and determine appropriate methods and sequence of operations Able to demonstrate an analytical approach to investigation, along with a practical ability to resolving engineering problems. Experienced in fabrication tasks using Mig & Electrode Welding and using gas burning equipment. Flexible approach to working hours as the position will require participation in a shift working arrangement which will include working weekends and breakdown/call out cover, to facilitate completion of maintenance works when the equipment is available for repairs Valid Driving License is desirable but not essential as position may involve travel around between the sites, as and when required Desirable Criteria Experience in working in a processing manufacturing or the waste industry This job description is a summary of the main duties of the role but is not exhaustive.
