Finance Controls and Governance Audit Senior - Home Based (with travel to Leeds and Harrogate) - ARD1064687
Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance Integration, Change & Governance, this exciting new opportunity has arisen to join a newly formed audit team within our wider Finance Integration, Change & Governance team. As we continue with new acquisitions into Ardonagh Advisory, this role will lead a team to understand and document the acquired businesses control environments, design and implement a robust audit strategy and, through the team, ensure that audit procedures are performed in alignment with the strategy.
Whilst home based you will need to attend meetings in our Leeds/Harrogate offices every 2-3 weeks and will be required to travel to our UK offices as per business needs.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your line manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following:
1. Develop, implement and embed first line audit model, specifically for new acquisitions.
2. Ensure key financial controls are operating in line with business standards.
3. Conduct audit assignments, as designed.
4. Provide an audit report on each assignment outlining the overall assessment, proposed adjustments and control recommendations.
5. Outline the escalation process and ensure timely resolution of control issues.
6. Communicate and build strong relationships with stakeholders and teams across Ardonagh.
7. Effectively manage the team members to ensure all deliverables are met efficiently and to timetable.
Qualifications and Experience
Education - Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Qualifications - ACA/ACCA qualified
Specialist Knowledge - CASS, IFRS, UK GAAP
Microsoft Office - Skills to an advanced level, particularly Excel
This is an opportunity for a qualified ACA/ACCA auditor who has experience planning and delivering statutory audits and managing audit assignments and teams. You will need strong experience of accounting functions and business and financial reporting.

You will need to be able to influence and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, communicate effectively across all mediums, demonstrate your excellent planning and organisational skills and able to identify problems and seek out solutions. You will be a driven individual who works well in a team but can use their initiative and resourcefulness. Attention to detail is essential, as well as analytical, investigative and logical reasoning skills.
You will need demonstrable experience leading and training others in both processes and systems.
