Assistant Principal (Director of Post-16 Education & IB Coordinator)

As the Assistant Principal/Director of Sixth Form, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing our sixth form, ensuring our students are supported socially, academically and personally. You will drive strategic initiatives to enhance student outcomes and foster a culture of high aspirations and success.
Job Purpose
1. To lead and manage the task of creating and maintaining conditions in which the students can reach the highest educational standards at the Academy through the delivery of the Academy Improvement Plan and creating and maintaining an ethos which brings out the best in staff and students across the Academy to ensure continuous improvement.
2. To contribute to the overall leadership and management of the Academy and undertake any professional duties that the Principal reasonably delegates.
3. To support actively the vision, ethos, culture and policies of the Academy and to take corporate responsibility for delivering this vision.
4. To be responsible for the academic progress and personal development of all students and work to identified key performance indicators in this regard, with responsibility for sixth form students.
5. To provide information, guidance and administrative support to students, colleagues and other stakeholders on all aspects of the IB programmes.
6. To be responsible for coordination of IB.
7. To raise standards at the Academy through the coordination of all activities linked to the IB programmes.
8. To lead in areas of core responsibility, as designated and agreed with the Principal.
9. To work to the professional duties for school leaders as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
