An exciting opportunity has arisen for experience Community Staff Nurses to provide leadership and support within the Mid & North Nottinghamshire Evening and Night Community Nursing Service. We have a secondment opportunity in the Evening and Night service for a period of 12 months as a Senior Staff Nurse.
You must have significant community experience with the ability to motivate yourself and others. It is essential you have effective leadership skills, high emotional intelligence and be committed to supporting integrated ways of working across our community nursing team within the out of hours environment to provide safe and effective patient care across many localities within the mid-north Nottinghamshire area.
The post holder will be required to:
Complete managerial roles such as, return to work discussions, sickness monitoring, rota completion, performance reviews, and one to ones.
Be an effective leader and role model.
Will be expected to provide direct clinical care including administration of medications, wound care and palliative support.
Support the implementation of both clinical and non‑clinical governance.
Work flexibly as a member of the team to ensure standards are being maintained, evaluated, and where necessary improved.
Ensure high quality, evidence-based care is offered to patients and, in collaboration with the Team Leader identify the common issues which affect the quality of care and produce strategies to overcome these.
Maintain the highest standards of quality care for your patients within their own homes. You will be expected to manage and support a team of community nurses and health care support workers to be able to work within evidence based practice to give safe patient care.
You will therefore demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and lead change within the community and work force.
You will need to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary environment and be politically aware of service developments. You will be flexible, reliable and approachable as well as having an up to date knowledge of palliative care, wound care and leadership skills.

Applicants must be 1st Level Registered General Nurse with current NMC Registration.
You must have evidence of recent diploma level study and hold 120 level 2 diploma credits or equivalent.
Extensive post qualification experience preferably some in the community sector.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Act as a role model and teacher, working alongside other staff including visiting patients and clinical supervisions.
Work with the team leader to identify hazards relating to clinical and non‑clinical risks and undertake identified risk assessments. Ensure that junior staff also see this as important by maintaining a culture which will support the delivery of both clinical and non‑clinical governance within the service.
Ensure that all documentation is regularly and appropriately reviewed and updated with changes implemented.
Ensuring all training needs are up to date and escalated to ensure staff development.
