Salary: £23,500 to £ 23,893 per annum.
Location: The job will be based at offices and depots across West Sussex including County Hall Chichester, Clapham depot near Worthing and Drayton depot near Tangmere. Regular attendance to these locations as well as project sites across the County will be required.
Contract: Apprenticeship.
Working pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week.
Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays.

What you will be doing
As a Civil Engineering Senior Technician Apprentice, your job will be to help plan, design, maintain and construct roads, footways, drains, traffic signals and council owned structures such as bridges.

You will undertake and complete a Level 4 Civil Engineering Senior Technician Apprenticeship qualification. This will include registration as an Engineering Technician by the relevant professional engineering institution, functional skills and employment responsibilities and rights. The apprenticeship will require a commitment to attend college regularly over an 18-month period, working with an assessor to develop a work-based portfolio, undertaking work-based assessments, completing all assignments and projects relating to the apprenticeship standard, and presenting evidence portfolios for assessment within specified timeframes.
On the job training may include:
* Learning the principles of project management
* Learning and applying design standards
* Programming and resource management
* Contract governance and budget management
* Stakeholder communications
* Reactive maintenance processes and solutions
* Asset management
* Scheme prioritisation and site inspections/assessment.

What you will need to apply
* Five GCSE's at grade A*-C or 9-4, including Maths (with a minimum Grade B or 5-6), English and Science, or equivalent vocational qualifications
* Ability to meet deadlines and use initiative to complete varied tasks
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Some experience of providing a service to others or working with others to deliver a goal, either in a job or an extra-curricular activity
* Full valid UK driving licence.
