You will participate in the provision of a safe, efficient and cost-effective Aseptic Preparation Service for Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust as part of a multidisciplinary team. Training and revalidation of staff in all aseptic practices as well as assisting the managers on daily duties. You will be working together with our Senior Technician, Assistants, and other junior staff to help develop their skills in this area, as well as making sure we continue to improve our aseptic services. Main duties of the job To assist in the provision of a high quality, patient focused, aseptic service, to patients of the trust particularly regarding provision of a chemotherapy compounding service. To assist the senior technicians in the day to day running of the pharmacy aseptic service. Including the training of technicians, apprentices and assistants in the technical aspects of the service. To help facilitate and support the efficient and cost-effective use of medicines within the aseptic unit. To provide safe, timely, cost effective appropriate and high qualitypharmaceutical services for patients and staff. To apply for this post, you will be a Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC, be a qualified Accredited checking Technician with the required aseptic training About us We operate from three main hospitals -the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. The RLI and FGH have a range of General Hospital services, with busy Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
