Role Overview: We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior Stress Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a crucial role in supporting the composite design team involved in the design, development, and qualification of composite aerostructures. Reporting to the Mechanical Design Team Leader, you will manage stress analysis activities, oversee external sub-contracted analysis support, and ensure the successful completion of complex projects. Senior Stress Engineer - Composite Key Responsibilities: Conduct stress analysis of composite components using FEA software Apply stressing methodologies for metallic and composite components, preparing detailed reports. Manage and oversee external sub-contractors supporting analysis activities. Collaborate with customers and present technical findings during Design Reviews. Perform value analysis during the design phase to optimize product development costs. Provide technical support for new projects, evaluating requirements and implications. Maintain accurate project files and records of all work. Drive cost reduction and process improvements through application of best practices and professional expertise. Senior Stress Engineer - Composite Essential Skills & Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Stress Engineer role with a focus on composite structures. Proficiency in stress analysis of composite components using FEA software Experience with 3-D modelling, CAD, and SolidWorks. Strong knowledge of aerospace stressing methodologies for both metallic and composite components. Ability to solve complex problems using multiple sources of information. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both internal teams and external customers. Ability to work independently, drive tasks to completion, and collaborate effectively within a team. Senior Stress Engineer - Composite Desirable Skills: Experience working in industries involving composites (e.g. aerospace, automotive, or marine).
