The team advises on complex, high-value and often first-of-their-kind energy and infrastructure projects worldwide. Their work spans concession, construction, operation, financing, supply, and offtake arrangements across various energy and natural resources sectors.
Clients include private equity and investment funds, governments, development finance institutions, project developers, banks, institutional investors and insurers. The team also provides counsel to regulators, offtakers and suppliers on key industry matters.
Position Overview
As a Corporate Associate, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the firm's Energy practice, working on complex and high-profile projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project development, particularly within energy and construction and a desire to expand their practice. Experience in the London market is essential, ideally gained at a leading energy, infrastructure or natural resources team.
Responsibilities
* Advise on a range of energy and construction projects, including project development and financing
* Draft, review, and negotiate complex construction contracts
* Provide strategic advice to clients on the commercial aspects of transactions, including feedstock and offtake arrangements
* Keep informed about advancements in the energy industry and relevant government support programs.
Requirements
* UK Qualified lawyer with at least 4 years of experience gained from a top-tier firm
* Strong project development background with a focus on energy and construction
* Solid London market experience gained in a top-tier energy, infrastructure or natural resources team
* Experience in project structuring, contract negotiation and key commercial agreements within the energy sector
* Experience advising on construction and operational contracts, supply chain agreements, and regulatory frameworks
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project management skills
* Strong academic record and excellent communication and people skills
