Marketing and Communications Contractor, Part-Time, Inherently Human
Location: Remote
Role Type: Contractor, part-time 2 days per week for 12 months (initial contract, with possibility to extend or make permanent)
Salary: up to £45,000 pro rata

About Inherently Human: Inherently Human works at the intersection of business and human rights. We support businesses in the UK and Europe to identify and manage human rights issues in their operations and supply chains. We partner with clients to develop their approach to human rights and support implementation through training and coaching. Our team works part-time, offering flexible working days and hours. This role is remote, with quarterly travel to London for team working days.
About You: As our Marketing and Communications Manager, you will join a small, agile team dedicated to making human rights matter. The primary purpose of this role is to oversee our marketing and communication to new and existing clients, expanding our brand’s recognition and communicating the impact of our work.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to convey our mission, values, and impact to stakeholders.
2. Coordinate the planning, creation, and distribution of engaging content across various channels, predominantly LinkedIn and our website.
3. Manage messaging and storytelling efforts to grow our credibility and client base, including blogs, reports, and webinars.
4. Monitor and analyze communication and marketing metrics to assess effectiveness and inform strategic decision-making.
5. Stay informed about industry trends and collaborate with the team to apply insights to improve strategies and tactics.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Previous experience in a similar role; qualifications are less important than lived experience.
2. Proven experience in developing and executing marketing and communication strategies.
3. Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft compelling reports and narratives.
4. Proficiency in communication and marketing tools and platforms, including LinkedIn and Canva.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work flexibly in a small, remote team.
6. Good organizational skills, patience, positivity, and a solution-focused approach.
7. Passion for human rights is a benefit, but we are happy to help build that passion!
The successful candidate will need to register with HMRC for self-employment and pay their own tax and National Insurance contributions associated with this role.
