Supervisor (Surrey to London)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ensure the safe, efficient, and professional delivery of services.
2. Supervise work processes, equipment, materials, labor, and resources from start to completion, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and KPIs.
3. Develop, manage, and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and employees.
Key Responsibilities
Operational
4. Oversee and coordinate scheduled and responsive works in accordance with specifications.
5. Ensure all work meets contract requirements and industry standards.
6. Identify, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve operational targets.
7. Provide regular progress updates to the line manager and promptly report any issues affecting service delivery.
8. Collaborate with management and supervisory teams to drive continuous service improvements.
Commercial/Financial
9. Understand financial and commercial targets, effectively managing resources to meet and exceed expectations.
People Management
10. Lead recruitment, induction, supervision, and management of employees, ensuring resources are effectively utilized.
11. Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any issues in a timely manner, following company policies and procedures.
12. Identify and support training and development needs for employees.
13. Promote best practices in Health & Safety, operational systems, and equipment usage, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
14. Foster a positive team culture by encouraging open communication and collaboration.
Health & Safety
15. Monitor and ensure daily inspection and reporting procedures for plant and vehicles are completed.
16. Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and industry best practices.
Person Specification
Experience
17. Minimum of 5 years experience in the grounds maintenance industry.
18. Proficiency in IT applications.
Qualifications
19. Minimum NVQ Level 2 (NVQ Level 3 desirable).
20. Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture & Fine Turf (NVQ Level 3 desirable).
21. Supervisory or management qualifications/training (desirable).
Personal Attributes
22. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
23. Ability to work independently, manage workloads effectively, and prioritise tasks.
24. Literate and numerate.
25. Willingness to undertake further training.
26. Full, clean UK driving license.
27. Strong financial and commercial awareness.
