About Us:
At Direct Line Group, insurance is just the start. Combining decades of industry experience with talented people in every field from data, technology, customer care and auto repair, to HR, finance and procurement, we're a customer-obsessed market powerhouse. And we all work together to be brilliant for customers, every single day.
DLG's growth is supported by our Risk function which develops, implements and maintains risk management policies, procedures, tools, and framework for us.
We are currently recruiting for a Conduct Risk Manager to join our team on a full-time and permanent basis. This position can be based from any of our UK offices (hybrid working).
What we're looking for:
We want someone to join this fast-paced team and be actively engaged from day one. Someone who is keen to proactively seek opportunities to enhance conduct risk management and help with programmes of change and transformation.
* A great communicator who can interpret information and share knowledge across the business in a way that is easy for the audience to understand.
* Experience in implementing regulatory change in either first- or second-line roles and completing regulatory rule mapping.
* Understanding of risk frameworks, risk management and assessing controls.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders.
* Ability to work to critical deadlines, manage multiple priorities and willingly support team colleagues.
What you'll be doing:
Reporting to the Head of Conduct Oversight, you will provide expertise, direction and advice across different teams and processes that seek to support the identification and management of conduct risks, focusing on ensuring that customers are achieving good outcomes.
* Support second line oversight of change programmes and strategic activity, providing review and challenge of activity and giving advice on identification and management of associated conduct risks.
* Seek opportunities to support risk-based decision-making during programmes of change.
* Provide advice and guidance on the enhancement of risk embeddedness in relation to Conduct Oversight.
* Provide technical regulatory risk and conduct risk interpretations of relevant industry consultations and activity, working closely with the broader area.
* Continuously contribute to increasing risk awareness across DLG by engaging with stakeholders and sharing knowledge on risks and controls.
* Review internal reporting and management information and complete analysis of results to identify potential conduct risks.
* Act as deputy for the Head of Conduct Oversight in meetings and in the completion of some tasks such as contributing material and relevant regulatory conduct matters to the Compliance reports to the Board, Board Risk Committee, and Risk Management Committee.
* Support the Head of Conduct Oversight in identifying where current assurance activities in first and second line (detective controls) can be improved to drive good customer outcomes.
* Complete own tasks including project-related work and ad-hoc activities within agreed deadlines.
Who you'll be working with:
You'll work with multiple business areas across Direct Line Group, building a strong network of contacts to provide advice and guidance on conduct matters. The team is part of a larger second line Risk Function and there are plenty of opportunities to work with other teams on key pieces of work.
What we'll give you:
A rare opportunity to join the Conduct Oversight team in a role where you will have exposure to all areas of the business, input towards key strategic projects, be able to build relationships with key stakeholders, help support the Group in achieving its objectives and the chance to have a positive impact in lots of different ways. This is a great role for Conduct or Compliance professionals who enjoy variety in their work and who would like the opportunity to focus on Conduct Risk management.
